Visit to Birmingham

Necklace - Zara
Sunglasses - Fake Raybans
Cami top - Topshop
Jeans - Topshop (sale)

Last week I went to visit my friends from University. It was so lovely to see them as the summer has been so long! We did some shopping in Birmingham (AMAZING btw..) and then went for cocktails. We got a little bit merry on the cocktails; when I was asked how many glasses did I need for the pitcher of Pimms and I answered 'just one', I should've know that would've been the outcome! If you love shopping though I would highly recommend the Bull Ring, as it literally has everything.

I bought some new stuff recently (the jeans, shoes, and blouse) so wanted to wear it! I am loving ripped jeans ATM! Such a good alternative to normal skinny jeans which have always been my go-to pair. When I was shopping I bought lots of stuff so you will be seeing it very shortly on the blog! I even found some white ripped Hayden jeans for 10 pounds, so obviously I had to have them!

Anyway thanks for reading!

Throwback to when the sun came out

Sunglasses - Bought on holiday
Crop Top - Zara (Sale)
Skirt - H&M
Boots - Topshop (sale)

I know this post doesn't exactly help as it's now raining in the UK, but I wore it when iy was sunny so decided to post it anyway! If you are lucky enough to be going away this skirt is lovely, really simple, but a little different as it has like a bumpy texture. Lovely tie at the waist, which helps nip you in. This skirt sold out practically straight away in my H&M so not sure if it's still available anywhere!

What have you been up to in this horrible weather!? (I'm sulking)

Relaxing in Rhodes - Look 10

Top - Primark
Skirt - Topshop (Sale)
Bag - Primark

Gosh look how tanned I was! Writing this post, and having been home for two weeks this is pretty depressing. This was a top that I saved to wear for one of my lasts nights as I know t would be great to highlight a tan! It was only £6 from Primark so what a bargain! Any last minute holiday bits you need I would definitely recommend going there! Oh and also my hair I did a milkmaid braid, which was nice to just do something different.

Anyway, this is my last of my holiday posts, I hope you have enjoyed reading them! I wish I could sayI am going away again before I go back to Uni but I'm not! I will be posting normal OOTD from this week, and documenting all of the things I've been up to, but here at home!

Once again thanks for reading,

Relaxing in Rhodes - Lindos Ice Bar

Considering I have been to Lindos/Pefkos twice previously, I have never even noticed the Ice Bar. It is located at the top of the hill in Lindos. I have never been to an ice bar, I have had iced reviews from people to visit that one, but we thought we would try this one.
It was really good actually! Absolutely FREEZING (state the obvious), but we had these ponchos, and gloves to wear. We spent around 25 minutes in there before we had enough. It was 12€ which came with a cocktail, which was served within an ice glass - pretty cool (excuse the pun haha). It wasn't that big at all, but apparently it was bigger than London's, so London Ice Bar must be so, so small!
Anyway, I would recommend going here if you want to do something different, even though you can't exactly spend a lot of time in there.

Relaxing in Rhodes - Look 9

Top - Motel Rocks (via ASOS)
Skirt - Motel Rocks (via ASOS)
Sandals - Topshop
Bag - Primark

I think the whole co-ord trend is sooo good, especially for summer. This is such a bold print, I think unfortunately I won't be wearing it through the winter, but will hopefully be able to wear it next summer! It's good to have the option of wearing it together but also I've worn the skirt by itself with a blue cami, which looked nice. I wonder if co-ords will be a trend throughout winter?

Relaxing in Rhodes - Boat trip!

When abroad I always go on boat trips and this holiday was no exception. We got a boat trip that was about an hour and a half from Pefkos. You go up to Lindos drop some people off, then go further up the island. On the way back we got to stop at the magnificent bay that had turquoise water and was as clear as can be, and we got to have a little swim. I would highly recommend it if you are going to the Lindos/Pefkos area. It is the 'glass bottom boat' that has posters up around everywhere.

Relaxing in Rhodes - Look 8

Dress - Topshop (Sale)
Bag - Primark
Sandals - Primark

Another bargain, this dress was originally £55 (I think), and in the sale was £25. It is actually really flattering, although a bit tight, when at nights it was still so hot I definitely felt hotter in this. Still find it beautiful though with the sheer panel around he waist and on the sleeves.

Oh and the lipstick I'm wearing is YSL Rouge Volupte, a really glossy red.

Relaxing in Rhodes - My holiday purchases

When in Rhodes I can't help but to at least buy a piece of jewellery, but this time I bought a necklace, jumper and a pair of ray-berrys/fay-bans, basically fake ray bans. The jewellery shops alone are amazing, but I couldn't resist this hand painted jumper (link to Facebook group here). If you ever go to Lindos make sure you take a look at this shop which is next to Alex's restaurant. The man in there hand paints the jumpers himself, he says they are all washable etc etc, and they are €50 (I got mine for €40 as there was a hole in mine), but seriously the designs are incredible and I could've bought more than one.

Let me know what you think of my purchases, I think I did pretty well!

P.S I will do an outfit with this glorious jumper, but for the purposes of this post I was just showing you the jumper only!

These River Island ribbed vest are just amazing and you can wear them with anything. I took a black, white and a cropped green one, and wore them all. I've posted about these shorts before but these are also a perfect go-to short, super comfy, but can look nice dressed up.

Relaxing in Rhodes - Look 5 & Exploring Rhodes Town

 Necklace - Topshop
Top - ASOS
Flip Flops - River Island

One evening we took a coach trip to Rhodes Town. They had a new and old town, but we spent all our time in the old town. There are hundreds of shops selling jewellery, leather goods, clothing, random bits and pieces, but also loads of restaurants. I would definitely recommend going there for an evening (or day, but it was too hot for us) as it was really lovely. It was quite massive and we got lost but all in all was really good. I bought a necklace there which will be coming up on the blog in the next week or so!

Relaxing in Rhodes - Look 4

Necklace - Zara
Top - ASOS
Shorts - Topshop
Sandals - Primark
Bag - Primark

Love these shorts, but they do not have any stretch in them, so once I stuffed dinner plus a nutella crepe they were getting rather tight lol! But they were still just as beautiful.

Also on my lips I wore my new Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Exotic Island, really bright pink.

Relaxing in Rhodes - My holiday reads

When I'm on holiday the thing I most enjoy is to do nothing apart from laying on a sun bed and reading my kindle. Whilst I was on this holiday I read 7 books, and 1 'short story' so I think I did pretty well!

All of the books I read are romantic, lovey dovey, and most of them amazing! I thought I would just list the books I read, and what I liked/disliked about them, in case any of you are going on holiday and stuck with what to read!

1) The Edge of never | J.A. Redmerski
This made me laugh and even shed a tear! I had to do the awkward putting my shades on when I felt myself tearing up! It is such a good book and would highly recommend it. The character gets on a bus across USA, and basically meets a guy on it, and then things start to happen from there. BUT there is such a sad bit towards the end that if you don't tear up then there i something wrong with you! You just have to go and read it!

2) Johnny's Girl | Paige Toon
Paige Toon is possibly my favourite author. My favourite book ever is Johnny Be good, and this is a short story that comes after Johnny Be Good and Baby Be Mine. All of her books are linked in some kind of way, like the character might have been mentioned in a previous book, but really you can read them in any order (except Johnny Be Good, then Baby Be Mine, then this one). I love going back to read them as they are all just so good. This book in particular is a short story about when Johnny finds out he has a daughter. Another one I would recommend, but you have to have read the two previous books. (Just go and read them all)

3) The Accidental Life of Jessie Jefferson | Paige Toon
This carries on from the previous book, but it is from the perspective of the daughter. I think this is part of Paige Toon's new 'teenage' books, but trust me I do not care I was going to read this even if I was 30! Once again loved it, but now can't wait for the next one!

4) Thirteen Weddings | Paige Toon
This is my final Paige Toon read of the holiday I promise! This is her new book for this summer. It is about Bronte who has come over from Australia for a hen do, meets a guy called Alex on a night out, sleeps with him, (sounds sleezey but totally isn't), but then has to go back home to Australia. 18 months down the line she finds herself moved to England for her job, and then her and Alex cross paths again. She becomes a part time wedding photographer and does thirteen weddings, with the last being rather difficult for her. I'm not going to give too much away, but once again is a must-read in my opinion.

5) The Unpredictable Consequences of Love | Jill Mansell
Anybody who is into romantic books must have read the Jill Mansell books. One of the best that's for sure, and this one is also within that category. This book is not just concentrated on one love story but a couple, with one that is probably the 'main' one. Having different love stories is just so beautiful, there is an old couple as well as two young couple's, but there is also a part of love in general between family. The whole story is just so wonderful, and I found myself reading as quickly as possible just to try get through it.

6) Any Way You Want Me | Lucy Diamond
Out of all of my books this is my least favourite. Nothing to do with how it was written or anything technical like that I just didn't like the story that much. It's about how a woman has an affair. OK that's putting it bluntly, but I felt like it made out how having an affair is normal and OK. I found myself getting so frustrated with the character, it was getting annoying! But I guess that did make me read on, and I did finish the book so it can't have been that bad I suppose!

7) Wait for You | J. Lynn
What a beautiful book. In this book also you get to seriously love the characters. Avery is the main character who has moved across America to attend College away from her family. You never really know what she has run away from till you get into the book, which makes you read further and further. Avery has a guard up, doesn't go to parties, never dated etc etc. You find out what happened to her and it just makes you feel so sorry for her. Cam and Avery meet on the first page of the book, and then their friendship unfolds throughout the book, really beautiful.

8) It Felt Like a Kiss | Sarra Manning
What another GLORIOUS love story! haha. Ellie has had trouble finding any 'good guys', and it gets really bad when one blabs to the papers about who her father is (rich, musician, famous guy). Her life then gets turned upside down, she gets in contact with her fathers lawyer (David) who turns out to be someone she met at a music festival previously. You go through love and hate with David (serious emotions through reading a book lol). But just read it so you find out what happens!!

I feel so stupid when I get so into books. My boyfriend tends to roll his eyes when he sees me laughing (or crying) whilst reading, but its because they were just so amazing!!

Hope you enjoyed this random post!

P.S If you do like to read I would HIGHLY recommend getting a kindle! No more lugging 5 books on holiday, and the pages dropping out because the glue has melted in the sun! Trust me once you get one you'll wonder why you hadn't.

Relaxing in Rhodes - Look 3

Necklace - Zara
Skirt - Topshop (Sale)
Bag - Primark

This skirt was one of my best buys of the recent sales. It's a really nice A-line shape, and is rather flattering (as long as I don't cram in too many crepes)! These heels are still just as beautiful, but still kill my feet, I'm not really sure how I go about 'breaking' them in, as I've worn them 3 times no and have killed all three times, any tips?

Packing tips!

Whilst you are reading this I will be in sunny Rhodes having a relaxing holiday, but whilst I wrote this a week ago I was pulling my hair out trying to make, and making sure I didn't forget anything! I decided I would do a little post on some packing tips, that I have attempted to do to help me pack, (not so good on a few of them).

1) Make a list
I have only started doing this on my last couple of holidays and I think it really helps. I am quite a list sort-of person so it kind of goes with what I'm like. Anyway write down everything you are going to take, add to it when you remember, and cross off once it's gone into the suitcase.
2) Plan outfits beforehand
In all honesty I have only done this for this holiday. Normally I have my clothes I take and all of my three sisters suitcases to choose from, so never really thought of doing this, but this time I made sure I had some sort of outfits in my head. I'm going for two weeks to a villa, so I made sure I had at least 7/8 planned eating out outfits, that way there is no stressing (or reduced amount of stressing) when I'm there.
3) Change money beforehand
Simple/boring one, but I started to change my money from last pay check, as well as this one, so I'm not totally poor when I come home. Also, the exchange rate is so much better than if you were to do it in the airport.
4) Take half empty toiletries/ poor them into smaller bottles
I NEVER do this. I'm one of those people who does a massive shop in boots a day or two in advance of going on holiday, but think how much space I would save if I took half empty bottles so I could leave the rest on holiday at the end. That way there is more space for purchases I've made on holiday, and less of a worry that I will be over the weight limit! Also there are small toiletry bottles that you can buy in boots/anywhere, that you can decant just how much you need.
5) Take portable weighing scales
You can buy such small scales that weigh your case when you're away. If you anything like me and my family then we seem to bring back mountains worth of stuff once we are away. This way you kind of know whether your gonna get a shock and have to pay extra for your baggage.

Sorry for such a wordy post, but thought it might be helpful for yourselves, but also for me whilst I'm in the process of packing!
